Martino Vergnaghi is an Italian composer, born in Milano on September 29th, 1985.

He has no formal music education: after 4 years of piano studies during middle school ages, he continued his training as a self-taught.

His work as a composer begins in his early 20s, as a writer of stage music for the theatre company LUPI MA LEONI, formerly based in Milano. Thanks to this company, his stage songs have been performed in various theatres, including famous Teatro Nuovo in Milano.

In 2009, Martino begins his activity as an independent composer, alongside the music composition for theatre. He releases his first album Blue Star. It contains piano solo pieces and new age/ambient music. Other similar releases go ahead until 2014.

Since 2012, Martino carries on a live activity, where he performs his pieces in libraries, museums, churches and various cultural venues in his region, Lombardia.

2015 is a very important year for Martino’s career. He starts his collaboration as sacred music composer with the Diocese of Milano. His works are mainly songs aimed to help younger generations to pray. The joint venture with the Diocese of Milano is quite long and successful, and includes quite important titles like Se Resti in Noi (official hymn for the Confirmation ceremony), Nove Doni per Natale (Christmas song) and Meta dei Miei Sogni (song for 2025 Jubilee). Those songs have become widely popular in Italian Christian communities and have been performed several times in important locations like S.Siro Stadium, Milano; Milano’s cathedral; Piazza del Duomo, Milano; St.Peter Basilica in Vatican, Rome. In particular, in 2017, the song Se Resti in Noi was performed at San Siro stadium in Milano, at the presence of Pope Francis and 85.000 people.

From 2015, Martino establishes a constant activity as piano music composer. His piano pieces are regularly released on all the online platforms, especially Spotify, where it gained quite a remarkable popularity. On Spotify, Martino’s original piano music has gained more than 10.000.000 of plays from all over the world. His music has been interpreted by various pianists in Italy and abroad.

In 2024, Martino begins a new activity as a choral music composer. His pieces for SATB, TTBB, SAT have spread their popularity quite fast and they have been sung by many choirs in Italy and abroad, during concerts, recitals and music festivals: performances of Martino’s chorals took place in Argentina, USA, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Bulgaria, Sweden, as well as in Italy of course.

Martino is also a member of Milanese cultural association “Circuiti Dinamici” and artistic director for the musical part.
